Despite threats of legal actions by American rapper Kanye West and his lawyers, the anonymous creators behind the new crypto-currency company Coinye West launched their website today. The company changed the original logo and the URL from coinyewest, com to and goes by the name 'Coinye' instead of Coinye West.

Kanye's lawyers had earlier demanded that the creators stop using the terms "Coinye West" and "Coinye", stop the development and distribution of any products and services, stop using Kanye's copyrighted material, and completely deactivate the website and social media accounts. The lawyers specifically cite the Coinye creators' interview with Noisey, where they say, among other things, that they're staying anonymous "in case kanye gets pissed off".

“We want to release this to the public before the man can try to crush it,” one of the coders told the Wall Street Journal. “They’ll still come after us, but that’s OK.”
