South Africa unveils Mandela’s bronze statue

A 30-feet bronze statue of Nelson Mandela was unveiled today Monday 16th December 2013, by the South African president Jacob Zuma at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, South Africa.

This honour comes after he was laid to rest yesterday 15th December 2013 in the remote village of Qunu where he grew up. Idris Elba, Oprah Winfrey and partner Stedman Graham, Richard Branson, Desmond Tutu, George Bush, and Joyce Banda, were some of the high profile guests at the ceremony.
